This is my first Leon Sly cue. It is a simple sneaky pete (well, not so sneaky with the fancy ringwork and what looks like a coco joint). I am quite impressed with the quality of the fit and finish of the cue. Workmanship is clean, finish is clear, not too glossy and even. Shaft wood is nice too. Best of all, it is a very good player. I am impressed with the quality of the hit. I will definitely consider ordering a cue from him in the future. please see below for my PR scoring.

Quality of finish-7.5
Quality of shaftwood-7
Tone of hit-7 (a little rough but consistent)
Deflection-7 (medium deflection)
Stiffness-7 (medium stiff)
Power-7.5
Workmanship-8 (very clean work)

Viattorre-First Custom Ordered Cue

My first custom ordered cue was a Viattorre, back in 2007. Viattorre cues are made by Jackson Tan and team from the Philippines, but he has since retired.

This cue is a solid player. The workmanship is excellent i.e. the inlays, ringworks, points and veneers are really well executed. Its unfortunate and a loss to the pool world that Jackson Tan is not making cues anymore.

Cue specs:
Points, Buttsleeve: Snakewood with flaming veneers
Inlays: Ivory recut diamonds and ivory ovals
Buttcap: Ivoy
Ringwork: Veneered ringwork with dash variation
Wrap: Genuine lizard wrap
Joint: Ivory flat faced 3/8-10
